First Zoo Trip of 2014

Yesterday after we signed Alexa up for kindergarten (I still can't believe it), we took the kids to the Omaha zoo for the first time this year.  It was a bit windy so we spent most of our time indoors.  We still had a great time though and got some fun pictures.

We started off at the IMAX and saw Kenya: Animal Kingdom.  Parker stayed awake this time so it got interesting about half way through when he was no longer interested in sitting quietly.  He wouldn't leave the glasses on so I'm not so sure he could see the screen too well.  He liked the sounds more, especially when the elephants would "trumpet".  He would giggle every time. 

Next we checked out the aquarium.  Alexa wanted her picture taken by every single fish I think.

Then we made our way to the Lied Jungle.  Parker really enjoyed this.  His favorites were the waterfall and looking up into the canopy through all the leaves.  

And this is the only family picture we got the whole day.  It makes me laugh so I couldn't leave it out.

At the end of the afternoon, we had just enough time to check out the monkeys.  We spent a lot of time watching the gorillas.  They are always a favorite of mine.  This gorilla was particularly fun to watch and was putting on quite the show!

Before we left, Alexa insisted on "just one more picture" so here she is being silly. 

All in all it was a great day and I'm really ready for Spring-like weather so we can enjoy our little adventures more.
