August Updates

This month Alexa turned 9 months. She weighed 17 pounds, 13 ounces (30%), was 27" tall (25%) and her head was still above the 97th percentile. We were able to wean her off of her acid refux medicine this month which was very exciting. She learned how to crawl, get herself up to a sitting position from her belly and was able to pull herself up on her own and started to cruise around while holding on to furniture. It's just a matter of time before she's walking and I can't believe how big my little girl is getting! She says ma-ma and da-da quite a bit but not really in the right context yet. This was a very exciting month because I am now a stay at home Mommy. I'm working a little bit PRN right now until they get the new girl trained and I'll continue to take my rotation of on-call on the weekends. So far I love it and getting to spend the extra time with Alexa is wonderful especially because she is changing so much. Here are some of the highlights from August:

The Lincoln Children's Zoo:

She LOVED the goats!!

Fun at the Park(s):
Can you believe we talked Daddy into this?

Farmer's Market:
We like spending our Saturday Mornings at the Farmer's Market downtown

We loaded up on yummy sweetcorn! Thank goodness for the stroller so we didn't have to carry it all over.

Gardening with Mom:

Family Get Togethers:
Great-Grandma Lois in Paola, KS

Great-Grandpa A.D. in Paola, KS

Ladd Family cousins visiting from North Carolina

Great-Grandma Amy at her b-day party

Great-Grandpa Gene

Jasper the dog. Alexa wasn't scared a bit

Getting so good at standing!
Still using her tip-toes

Good Times:

Getting together with Suzanne & Kelli (who were both roommates in College) - we're only missing Jill

  1. What a treat ... being able to stay at home! I'm sure it's a change but one you probably LOVE!! Love the pictures of her standing in the brown/pink dress!
